n-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine, also known as hydroxyethyl ethylenediamine (HEEDA), is a chelating agent used in a variety of applications, including metal plating, metal cleaning, and as a precursor to other compounds. HEEDA is synthesized by reacting ethylenediamine with ethylene oxide. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water. HEEDA is studied because of its ability to complex with metals and its potential use in a variety of applications, including the development of new pharmaceuticals and pesticides.'
