Description

Dexamethasone-21-sulfobenzoate is a synthetic corticosteroid that is a prodrug of dexamethasone. It is a water-soluble derivative of dexamethasone that is designed to improve its pharmacokinetic properties. It has been studied for its potential therapeutic uses in various conditions, including inflammatory disorders and cancer. The sulfobenzoate ester is hydrolyzed in vivo to release free dexamethasone. Research indicates that it has similar anti-inflammatory effects to dexamethasone. However, it has a longer duration of action and a more favorable pharmacokinetic profile, which makes it potentially useful for chronic inflammatory conditions.'
