Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

7-methoxyresorufin is a fluorescent dye that is commonly used as a substrate for the enzymatic activity of cytochrome P450 monooxygenases. It is synthesized from resorufin by methylation at the 7-position. 7-methoxyresorufin is a highly sensitive and specific substrate for cytochrome P450 enzymes and is used in a variety of research applications, including drug metabolism studies, toxicology studies, and environmental monitoring. The compound is readily oxidized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to form a fluorescent product, which can be easily detected and quantified. This makes 7-methoxyresorufin an ideal substrate for measuring the activity of these enzymes. 7-methoxyresorufin is also used in high-throughput screening assays to identify inhibitors of cytochrome P450 enzymes. 7-methoxyresorufin is an important tool for researchers studying the role of cytochrome P450 enzymes in a variety of processes, including drug metabolism, detoxification, and steroid hormone synthesis.'
