6-aminoquinoline

Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

6-aminoquinoline is a heterocyclic organic compound with the formula C9H8N2. It is a white solid that is soluble in most organic solvents but only sparingly soluble in water. 6-aminoquinoline is used as a precursor to various pharmaceutical agents and is also an important intermediate in the synthesis of dyes. This compound is known to have antimalarial activity and has been studied for its potential use in the treatment of malaria. 6-aminoquinoline acts as a schizonticide, inhibiting the growth of the parasite in the asexual erythrocytic stage. It is also known to inhibit the parasite's DNA synthesis. 6-aminoquinoline is studied because of its potential to treat drug-resistant strains of malaria. It has shown promising results in clinical trials and is currently being investigated for its potential use in combination therapies. 6-aminoquinoline is also being studied for its potential use in the treatment of other parasitic diseases, such as toxoplasmosis and leishmaniasis.'
