3-hydroxydodecanoic acid | A medium-chain fatty acid that is the 3-hydroxylated derivative of lauric acid; associated with fatty acid metabolic disorders. | 3-hydroxylauric acid |
3-hydroxyoctanoic acid | An 8-carbon, beta-hydroxy fatty acid which may be a marker for primary defects of beta-hydroxy fatty acid metabolism. Repeating unit of poly(3-hydroxyoctanoic acid), a biopolymer used by numerous bacterial species as carbon and energy reserves. | 3-hydroxyoctanoic acid |
3,4-dihydroxybutanoic acid | A omega-hydroxy fatty acid that is butyric acid substituted by hydroxy groups at positions 3 and 4 respectively. | 3,4-dihydroxybutyric acid |
beta-hydroxymyristic acid | A 3-hydroxy fatty acid that is tetradecanoic (myristic) acid substituted at position 3 by a hydroxy group | 3-hydroxytetradecanoic acid |
beta-hydroxyvaleric acid | A short-chain fatty acid that is valeric acid in which one of the methylene hydrogens at position 3 has been replaced by a hydroxy group. | 3-hydroxypentanoic acid |
corynomycolic acid | A thirty-two membered mycolic acid consisting of 3-hydroxystearic acid having a tetradecyl group at the 2-position. | corynomycolic acid |
myrmicacin | A medium-chain fatty acid that is decanoic acid substituted at position 3 by a hydroxy group. | 3-hydroxydecanoic acid |
